Situated opposite the already vibrant INA Market, this open-air food, arts and crafts market is a parade of local handiworks. Featuring some exquisite pieces of work on offer, visitors usually end up bargaining a lot. Moreover, it is a decent place to take a shot at inexpensive but heavenly regional specialities, with a great number of stalls serving food from all over India.

Run by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), DilliHaat is unlike the conventional weekly bazaars as it is on for 365 days a year. Its complex was built on 6 acres of land, reclaimed and transformed by the government. The shops are places and designed relative to each other in such a way, that the bazaar simply looks like a village fair. Dusty stores with thatched rooftop cabins make for a very interesting sight, pulling in thousands of foreign tourists every year. Although a lot of shops are permanent, many others are only allowed to open for a specific number of days, usually 15 days.

Embellished camel leather footwear, rich fabric and drapery, rosewood and sandalwood carvings, pearls, jewellery, brassware, metal artworks, and silk and fleece fabrics; DilliHaat will rarely not impress one with its spectrum of options. Along with the aspect of shopping, the market plays hosts to many cultural and art shows and exhibitions, which display craft work by states from all over the country. In the evenings especially, a series of dance, theatre and puppetry shows are organized as part of some NGO work or just for promotion sakes.
